Colourfast Hand Dyes
use by hand with hot tap water

- Gives permanent colour to cotton, linen and viscose.
- Lighter shades are obtained on wool, silk and polyester/cotton mixes.
- Ideal for dyeing smaller items e.g. T-shirts.
- Can also be used in the microwave to achieve special effects e.g. tie-dye.
- One pack will dye up to 250g/8oz of dry weight fabric.
- Add 250g/8oz of salt. Increase the quantity of water
and salt in proportion to the number of packs used.

How to use Hand Dye
PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS IN EACH PACK
- Wash fabric thoroughly and leave damp.
- Wearing rubber gloves, dissolve dye in 1 litre/2 pints
of warm water.
- Put 6 litres/12 pints of hottest tap water into a bowl.
Add 250g/8oz salt, stir well and add dye solution.
- Put in damp, unfolded fabric, keep submerged for
1 hour. Agitate continually for first 15 minutes, then
occasionally for remaining 45 minutes.
- Rinse in cold water until it runs clear, then wash in
hot water using normal detergent. For wool and silk,
rinse in lukewarm water.
