Colourfast Hand Dyes
use by hand with hot tap water

  • Gives permanent colour to cotton, linen and viscose.

  • Lighter shades are obtained on wool, silk and polyester/cotton mixes.

  • Ideal for dyeing smaller items e.g. T-shirts.

  • Can also be used in the microwave to achieve special effects e.g. tie-dye.

  • One pack will dye up to 250g/8oz of dry weight fabric.

  • Add 250g/8oz of salt. Increase the quantity of water
and salt in proportion to the number of packs used.

How to use Hand Dye
PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS IN EACH PACK

  1. Wash fabric thoroughly and leave damp.

  2. Wearing rubber gloves, dissolve dye in 1 litre/2 pints
    of warm water.

  3. Put 6 litres/12 pints of hottest tap water into a bowl.
Add 250g/8oz salt, stir well and add dye solution.

  4. Put in damp, unfolded fabric, keep submerged for
1 hour. Agitate continually for first 15 minutes, then
    occasionally for remaining 45 minutes.

  5. Rinse in cold water until it runs clear, then wash in
hot water using normal detergent. For wool and silk,
    rinse in lukewarm water.
